We recently began speech therapy in addition to physical and occupational therapies. Josiah has really been trying to communicate. Now he can say mama, dada, ah da (all done), wawa (water), nigh nigh (night night), ou (out), and arrier (carrier). He has been signing night night, all done, more, bubbles, light, no, bye bye, carrier and most often he signs please. In addition to trying to communicate by words and signs, has added temper tantrums to the mix in an attempt to get what he wants. Honestly, I love those tantrums! I am learning to not give him what he wants during the fits but for the most part I am thrilled that he finally has an opinion and wants to communicate his desires in some way. He most often has a fit when we say no. Sometimes we are not even saying no to him but he kicks and screams when he just hears "no".
Josiah has also become a little clown and will do silly things trying to get us to laugh. After 18 months I feel like I am finally getting to know his little but bold personality. The other day Cora (my sister) reached out asking if Josiah wanted her to hold him. He quickly shook his head no, then turned towards me and rubbed his head into my shoulder. Without even a glimpse up to Cora, he ended with a wave "bye bye" towards her. We both started laughing and then he looked up with huge sly smirk on his face.
